Soy Sauce Chicken Wings Recipe

Nowadays, it might be difficult to order your favorite chicken wings due to the quarantine. But with this recipe from ChineseHealthyCook’s YouTube channel, you can easily satisfy your cravings at home!


Ingredients:

- 1 ½ lbs chicken wings

- 2 green onions or scallions

- 4 slices ginger

- 1 tsp white sugar

- 1 tbsp canola or vegetable oil

- 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine

- 3 tbsp light soy sauce

- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce


Instructions:

1. Using a knife, poke small holes on both sides of the chicken so that it can absorb the marinade better. Place it in a container and add the cooking wine, light and dark soy sauce, and sugar together. Mix well.

2. Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

3. Turn the stove to medium high and add 1 tbsp of oil. Sauté the ginger for a few minutes.

4. Add the chicken wings and cook until both sides are slightly brown.

5. Pour the rest of the marinade inside the pan and add enough water to cover the wings. Turn the heat on high and let it boil.

6. When it is boiling, add 2 whole green onions or scallions and turn down the heat to medium-low. Cover and cook for about 25 minutes.

7. After 25 minutes, uncover and turn the heat to high. Let the liquid evaporate.

8. When both sides are golden brown, turn off the heat and serve. Enjoy!
