Easy Pad Thai Recipe Using Spaghetti Noodles

Pad thai is a dish made of stir-fried rice noodles, but did you know that you can use spaghetti to make one? This recipe by Barilla puts a unique twist to the traditional pad Thai recipe by using spaghetti noodles.


Ingredients:

  • 1 box spaghetti
  • 1 lb. chicken breast (skinless), cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp. peanut oil
  • 1 cup firm tofu, diced
  • 1 bunch scallions, sliced
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • ½ cup peanuts, chopped
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 2 limes, cut into wedges

Steps:

  1. Boil water in a large pot. Set aside until it boils.
  2. Using a large skillet, sauté the chicken in peanut oil for 2 minutes.
  3. Add tofu and scallions and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. For the sauce, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, fish sauce, and lime juice in a small bowl.
  5. Mix thoroughly, then add the sauce to the chicken.
  6. Cook the pasta, drain the water, then stir together with the chicken and tofu.
  7. Once cooked, put the pasta on a plate and top it off with bean sprouts, toasted peanuts, and a wedge of lime for extra flavor.
