    Clean Collection Gentle Cleansing Milk

    Jan Angelo Ong

This is one of my favorites from QuickFX's new "Clean Collection" series! This ultra-gentle cleansing milk doesn't strip my skin at all after washing it off, plus it has a slight moisturizing effect, too. Don't let the non-bubbling formula discourage you! It's a thorough cleanser nonetheless.

The best partーyou can use it as a "first cleanser" to remove sunscreen, too! I use it in two different ways: first, on a dry face to melt sunscreen I've layered throughout the day, then the second, on a damp face, just like a regular cleanser. Definitely great for those who like to keep their routine minimal!

  • Céleteque® DermoScience™
    Acne Solutions Cleansing Gel

    Jan Angelo Ong

I've said this a couple of times on my YouTube channel—this product has saved me from the very trending maskne! This Cleansing Gel from Celeteque's Acne Solutions line is definitely a must-have for those with oily, acne-prone, and maskne prone skin.

It contains salicylic acid, also known as beta-hydroxy acid or BHA, an exfoliating acid that works deep into the pores to help unclog it—making it a good option for those who have the occasional breakout and/or suffer from blackheads and whiteheads.

For those looking for some mild exfoliation but find leave-on exfoliants too harsh on their skin, this is definitely an option to consider! In my case, I only had to use it once every two days to avoid over-exfoliating. The result? A significantly lessened maskne!

  • Physiogel
    Daily Moisture Therapy Dermo-Cleanser

    Jan Angelo Ong

When in doubt and when all cleansers irritate my skin, I always go back to this cleanser. When my skin was at its most sensitive and flaky, which was after a high-percentage peel procedure from my dermatologist, no cleanser would not irritate my skin except for this one.

Again, the formula doesn't bubble or lather up, but that's because it uses very gentle surfactants that are kind to the skin but still cleanse it well nonetheless. I would definitely recommend this as the safest option for those with sensitive, irritated, and even dry skin types. It's a cleanser I can really trust and depend on.

Clean Collection All In One Cream

    Jan Angelo Ong

I always compare or regard this moisturizer as a dupe to The Ordinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. The main reason being I can recommend this moisturizer to anyone, regardless of their skin type. Just note that this is a bit more lightweight than that of The Ordinary's.

Oily to combination skin types will appreciate the lightweight, hydrating feel of this moisturizer, while combination to dry skin types will appreciate how rich this moisturizer can be

The formula also contains niacinamide, an amazing ingredient to help repair and maintain the skin barrier. For those who are afraid to purge from niacinamide serums, you might want to try this one, too!

  • Cetaphil
    Moisturizing Lotion

    Jan Angelo Ong

This moisturizer is my OG and my go-to when I don't have access to any other moisturizers. It's just really a no-nonsense, straightforward moisturizer, and sometimes, that's all you really need!

In particular, though, I would recommend this for those with combination skin types and dehydrated skin because it's the perfect balance between hydrating and moisturizing. The milky consistency is just right, especially when I want that extra moisture, but I still want to keep it lightweight.

I also use this to moisturize everything else in my body. It's that good! You truly get your money's value with this product.

  • Céleteque® DermoScience™
    Hydration Facial Moisturizer

    Jan Angelo Ong

This is the moisturizer I use when I want to keep things ultra-lightweight. This gel-type moisturizer is the epitome of that! It's very hydrating and it absorbs within literal seconds. I always recommend this to friends who have oily skin and want skincare that "doesn't feel like it's there."

Although I'd argue that it's just a matter of getting used to, this moisturizer helps them ease into skincare better. And the best part is, it is affordable, fits just the right budget, and is very easy to find! I don't think I've seen a Mercury or Watsons that doesn't carry this!

  • Aveeno
    Daily Moisturizing Lotion

    Jan Angelo Ong

Going back to when my skin was at its most sensitive and flaky from a dermatologist peel procedure, this was, again, one of my saviors. This is a very emollient and soothing moisturizer from Aveeno, and this one doesn't break the bank either!

This really helped control the flaking in my skin and kept it moisturized and healthy. It also soothed it quite a bit, which I think is thanks to the colloidal oatmeal in most, if not all, of Aveeno's products. This is definitely my go-to drugstore recommendation for those who have dry, sensitive, or irritated skin.

You might wonder why I included this on the list despite it being a "body lotion". Although this is advertised as a body lotion, my dermatologist suggests that it can be used as an all-around product, so it can be used on the face, too!

  • Biore
UV Kids Pure Milk SPF 50+ PA++++

    Jan Angelo Ong

I've avoided Biore sunscreens for the longest time because I'm very picky about fragrance in skincare products, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that this one is fragrance-free and does not leave a white cast

It was through this sunscreen that I've learned a Japanese sunscreen hack for sensitive or picky skinーif you want to go fragrance-free or drying alcohol-free with your Japanese sunscreens, always look for the kids' formulas!

However, given that this does omit the drying alcohols, it's less fast-absorbing, and it feels more like a moisturizer. This is totally fine for me—I sometimes skip moisturizer and just apply this sunscreen. You can totally do that too, especially if you're in a hurry!

  • Sunplay Kids Lotion SPF60+++

    Jan Angelo Ong

Another addition to my Japanese Sunscreens for Kids collection, this one is a more lightweight sunscreen in all aspects.

First, it comes in this cute little Mickey Mouse tube that is very travel-friendly. Second, the consistency of this sunscreen—while still not as ultra fast-absorbing as its counterparts with drying alcohol—is relatively lightweight and absorbs fairly quickly into the skin

I would definitely recommend this as a lightweight sunscreen for oily skin types, as well as just a beginner-friendly sunscreen that has zero white cast, and is non-greasy upon application.

  • Belo
    SunExpert Face Cover SPF40

    Jan Angelo Ong

An amazing Philippines-exclusive sunscreen, this is one of the reasons to be proud of Philippine skincare! The Belo SunExpert Face Cover SPF40 is one of the best drugstore sunscreens I've tried and is actually the most budget-friendly of all the quality sunscreens I've seen.

This sunscreen boasts fragrance-free, no drying alcohol, no white cast formula that is fairly lightweight on the skin. Again, it's not as ultra-lightweight as its competitors with alcohol included in their ingredients list, but in return, it gives a nice light moisturizer finish that can take the place of a moisturizer if your skin is not as dry and/or dehydrated.
